The kit includes two smart switches specially engineered to work together with 3-way switch wiring, eliminating the need for expertise in complex 3-way switch wiring or confusing master vs. auxiliary smart switch settings.
The Kasa app guides users through each step of the installation process, including connecting the switches to the home Wi-Fi network and providing control from anywhere. For convenient hands-free control, the HS210 easily integrates with Amazon Echo or Google Assistant voice assistants.
Supported protocols include IEEE 802.11b/g/n, and the system requirements are Android 5.0 or higher and iOS 10 or higher. The wireless type is 2.4GHz 1T1R.
The easy-guided installation process requires a neutral wire and standard wall plate size, with no need to understand complex switch wiring or master vs. auxiliary switch configurations. The Kasa app provides step-by-step guidance throughout the installation.
The HS210 can be used as a 3-way or single-pole switch to control the light from one or two locations, replacing the traditional 3-way switch. It is particularly well-suited for the top and bottom of a staircase or between the house and garage. The Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch, 3-Way, works with a secured 2.4GHz wireless network without the need for a separate hub.
With the Kasa app, users can monitor the status of their lights and turn electronics on and off from anywhere, whether at home, in the office, or on vacation. The hands-free convenience of voice control through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant further enhances the user experience.
The scheduling feature allows users to set timer or countdown schedules to automatically turn the smart switch on and off while they are home or away. The "away mode" feature randomly switches the lights on and off to deter potential intruders.
